Sam Wilkinson - President

Sam Wilkinson - President of New Brewery Arts

Our new President, Sam Wilkinson, was in on the ground floor when New Brewery Arts, then known as Cirencester Workshops, was created in the mid 1970s out of an unloved and decaying 19th Century brewery. After setting up the legal framework for the organisation, Sam continued to be involved and became a trustee in 2001. He took on the chairmanship for 3 years during the major re-furbishment of Brewery Arts that was finally achieved two years ago, enabling Brewery Arts to move forward into the future as a vibrant centre for art and crafts for the area.

Sam was a solicitor in Cirencester for many years becoming senior partner in his firm. He is well involved in village life in North Cerney where he is president of the village cricket club and a governor of the village primary school. He hopes to continue contributing to NBA in his new capacity and says “ I am very optimistic about the future of the centre as we have a great team in place, both management and trustees. I am proud to see what we bring to Cirencester and the surrounding district “.

Sam is committed to promoting the high standard and quality of arts and crafts on offer at New Brewery Arts.  As an accomplished stained glass artist, he was selected to exhibit in the Raw Talent student showcase exhibition in the gallery in September 2011. Sam attends Daniella Wilson-Dunne's stained glass courses at New Brewery Arts.
