Raw Talent

Raw Talent exhibition at New Brewery ArtsStudent Showcase

10 to 25 September

Admission to the gallery is free

A mixed show celebrating the enormous amount of talent cultivated during the New Brewery Arts weekly programme of classes.

Tess acrylic by Pauline Cook

At New Brewery Arts we are keen to encourage professional development in artists at any level, from beginners to practicing craftspeople.

The decision to show Raw Talent in the gallery provided an ideal opportunity for students to experience a formal selection process and see their work exhibited in a professionally curated exhibition.

All students at New Brewery Arts were invited to put forward pieces for a formal selection process.

Stee Mansfield Preening DuckThe criteria for selection were:

  • Originality and creative approach
  • Skill and technical ability
  • Demonstration of the range and breadth of the courses on offer at New Brewery Arts

Two external artists/arts educators, hugely impressed by the quality of the work submitted, took a day to reach their decisions.  The result is an exciting exhibition of prints, textiles, stained glass, painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, wood and stone that gives the work the prestige it deserves.

The 'Raw Talent' exhibition was amazing - so much talent - inspires me to try other courses eg sculpture.

The embroidery is fabulous.  So is the stained glass.

This is great!  Where do I sign up for classes?

Wow, wow! How inspiring to see works of such a high standard. Beautifully presented exhibition of amateur art which is professional. Love it. Thank you. Love the lady sitting.
