Our Mission

New Brewery Arts is committed to sharing high quality contemporary craft and to being a catalyst for innovative practice and widening engagement in the arts.

Our Values

• We are passionate about visual arts and particularly about sharing exceptional and extraordinary contemporary craft with the widest audience.

• We believe in nurturing the talent of emerging and established makers, supporting them to create and sell new work, extend their practice and develop sustainable careers.

• We focus on being inclusive, increasing access to the arts for all. We put learning and participation at the core of everything we do.

• We believe in developing opportunities to make, see, collect and learn about the importance of making in all our lives.

• We believe in providing a vibrant and welcoming venue where visitors can meet makers, see and purchase excellent contemporary craft, participate in engaging arts activities and enjoy excellent food and service in our café

• We strive to develop contemporary craft at a local, regional, national and international level, exploring perceptions of contemporary craft practice while meeting the needs of makers, collectors and communities.

• We seek to encourage diverse and more knowledgeable audiences within and for contemporary craft by developing and delivering a range of participatory projects and opportunities aimed at artists, makers, children, young people and adults.

• We define the term ‘contemporary art’ widely and aim to showcase cutting edge and cross disciplinary work, innovative making and makers who collaborate with other visual and performing arts practices.

• We believe in engaging with national arts policies and social agendas.
