Art Lift is a Gloucestershire-wide initiative funded by Arts Council England, SW and Gloucestershire local authorities acting on the growing evidence that participation in arts activities can help to improve patient wellbeing.

Art Lift has placed arts practitioners into 15 healthcare settings across the county including GPs surgeries, acute hospitals and mental health units.

A wide range of work has taken place including visual arts projects, some of which have led to exhibitions, dance, music and creative writing.

Participants in the project have found new avenues of expression and social interaction which can help to reduce depression, anxiety and isolation.

New Brewery Arts has worked in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council, Gloucestershire Primary Care Trusts and other arts venues to support arts practitioners with their work during this project.
