Have you ever considered commissioning a "portrait" of your home or a building which has significance for yourself or a friend? Such a picture can make a heartwarming gift or fond memento. David Syme-Grant loves the challenge of recording the details of a building and its surroundings. He has produced many such commissions for clients and friends.
David is a retired interior and garden designer and teacher. You will immediately recognize his background in design in the level of accuracy of architectural details he records.
As an artist, David has worked in South Africa, Northern Ireland and England. He has exhibited his work previously in South Africa.
David's preferred subject matter is an extension of his main interests - landscapes and seascapes, still life, figures and architectural studies. His favoured media are pastel, pencil and charcoal.
David finds the use of colour, texture and perspective challenging, enjoyable and rewarding.
