Jeremy Bonner making his Chair for exhibition in Raw Talent 2012
Audience choice
The winner of this year's Audience Choice award is Jeremy Bonner's wonderful stained glass frog, pictured left.
Our Chief Executive, Ali Russell, presented Jeremy with a £50 voucher to spend in our shop.
Jeremy says:
"I started Stained glass work with Daniella Wilson-Dunne three years ago, and later Willow weaving with Norah Kennedy and Upholstery with Stephen Perkins, as part of my occupational therapy while convalescing from neurosurgery. In this respect, participating in courses provided by New Brewery Arts, and funded by the Churn Project, have proven invaluable. The experience gained is still an integral part of my everyday life and I hope to continue to develop my skills in theses crafts.
'The Frog' is the second piece of stained glass I have completed with New Brewery Arts, using new and recycled glass (beer bottles), and was an exercise in developing my painting techniques.
'The Chair' is the second piece of upholstery I completed. The brief was to refurbish an old piece of furniture, in this case a £20 dilapidated farm chair from CHYP, using age-old techniques, traditional materials and new learnt skills."
