Ceramics

Appointed in August 2012, Helen is our resident Ceramicist at New Brewery Arts.

Helen has an MA from Wolverhampton and exhibits widely in the UK.  She produces exquisite figurative sculpture with the fragility of the human condition as a key theme, often finding inspiration from reading memoirs, poetry and fiction. 

Helen encourages the exploration of posture, surface texture and colour.  Students will learn a variety of techniques, and how processes such as Raku glazing and smoke firing can give an iridescent, archaic quality to their pieces.

Helen is a member of the Midland Potters Association.
