Willow Weaving, Basketry, Garden Structures, Christmas Decorations
Norah Kennedy is a willow worker and willow teacher. Her love of natural materials began when she worked as a herdswoman.
In the early 1980s Norah trained as a willow basket maker with Brynn Mathews, who was then based in Swindon. Her interest lies in making baskets that are “right in themselves and good for use” and reviving at least a portion of the many traditional uses for willow that have been superseded, but not surpassed by, synthetic materials.
Norah has been teaching in the Cotswolds and in Dorset and Wiltshire for the past twenty years offering different willow courses – garden structures, Christmas decorations, lanterns, and sculpture as well as basket making workshops.
Norah sells her baskets at The Cotswold Show every year and at Ruskin Mill with a group of other artists at a selling exhibition called “Cornucopia” every other year.
