Ceramics
Russell aims to offer a fun relaxed atmosphere in classes where people can come and try their hand at pottery and continue to develop their skills. He offers a wide range of techniques including throwing, coiling, slab building, slip-casting and a number of decorative techniques.
Russell’s own work is inspired by traditional functional pottery and also modern conceptual work. You can see examples of his work in his studio and other galleries.
Russell was trained for three years at Wolverhampton University, achieving a BA in Ceramics. He has written a few books on basic kiln building and is always available to discuss this with the more advanced student. A member of the Craft Potters Association, he tries to be as involved in the British ceramics scene as he can as he believes it is an important part of our culture.
