Figurative sculpture in clay
Val Adamson runs The Sculpture Studio in Chalford, Stroud. Since graduating in 1998 with a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art Sculpture from Loughborough University, she has sculpted and taught figurative sculpture from her own studios and for a range of universities, colleges, schools and art bodies throughout the country.
Inspired by the human figure and by life experiences, Val aims to encourage a better understanding of the human form and how to sculpt it in clay. Her work ranges from observation of the figure, to game and child imagery, and she works in a range of materials from clay, bronze, resin and cement, to wood and plaster.
'My love of sculpting the human form drove me to create my own life classes. Over the past 12 years I have gained a great deal of experience working with all age groups and abilities and I have found that I love to teach sculpture as much as I love to sculpt.'
