Featured jewellers
This summer we have a varied selection of individual British Jewellers to widen our special jewellery on offer.
Sally Pawson
6 March to 25 April
Sally is inspired by and inspires playfulness. Her jewellery is handmade using traditional silversmithing and metalsmithing techniques. Modern technologies are also employed, enabling her to produce the innovative designs that make a bold statement in the field of contemporary jewellery. She wants jewellery to ‘be less serious’ creating pieces that are both beautiful and fun.
Naomi James
1 May to 20 June
Naomi has always designed as she works, allowing the making process to inspire the final design. She frequently uses embossing in her work, experimenting with feathers, dried leaves and flowers, picking up an amazing amount of delicate detail which she then complements with 18ct gold and semi precious stones.
Islay Spalding
26 June to 29 August
Inspired by nature and the forms and colours found in surrealist art, Islay combines sterling silver with hand dyed resins to achieve colourful, fun and highly wearable jewellery.
She also draws inspiration from nonsense stories and poems which form the basis of developing her more narrative work. Using mainly silver she adds detail with 18ct gold, found objects and precious and semi-precious stones, and uses techniques such as photo etching, saw piercing and oxidisation.
