Jenny Jones
Jenny Jones was born in 1954, and started writing just after she learned to read. Lacking adequate pocket money, she realised that stories could be bestowed on relatives in lieu of more conventional Christmas presents, and the relationship between creativity and money became embedded.
She went to grammar school and university, where she studied English and Music, but thought that she'd further this idea by going into publishing. But in fact, nothing went to plan and she has had the usual motley assortment of activities that writers tend to acquire - bookshops, scrap metal yard, nanny agency, local government, motherhood, and now an analyst for the NHS.
Her first book, 'Fly By Night' was accepted by the first publisher she sent it to when she was 36. She wrote ten more novels, which were well received and translated into half a dozen different languages, but did not make much money, and was financially supported by marriage. However when it became clear she would have to support herself, the writing became lost for a while.
She has two children, now grown up and mostly off her hands. Poetry now seems to be the creative outlet, but she still pines for the larger canvas.
Perhaps one day....

Opportunity for aspiring authors and poets
Submit your short story to Authortrek, and you could be named the Authortrek Writer of the Month!
Once you have registered on the site, you can post your story. Registration is free. Indeed, access to the whole of Authortrek Short Stories is free.
Each short story will have a voting button. So, once you have finished posting your story, forward the story link to your friends and ask them to read and vote for your story if they like it (i.e., don't be shy!) The winning author will be named the Authortrek Writer of the Month.
You can also earn some money for your writing - if your story gets over 30 votes, then you will be asked to participate in our new scheme to publish short stories in an anthology, a free copy of which will be sent to each successful author. If your story gets over 100 votes, then we will invite you to submit a novel to us, which we will then publish as a paperback, and the author will be paid 50% of the profits from the paperback in royalties. However, the editor Kevin Mahoney still reserves the right to reject any novel submission if he feels that it does not fit Punked Books' list, and also reserves the right to source novels from elsewhere.
