Week 1. Still life.

Explore in a classical way the shapes and colour. Nice and easy to start with junk still life.

Week 2. Still life.

Now explore in an expressive way – looking at George Braque

Week 3. Knife Painting.

Use the Knife to create a simple Landscape in a figurative technique.

Week 4. Knife painting.

Again create a landscape . the shapes and colour , keeping it simple , Looking at Nicholas de stael

landscape.

Week 5.Drawing with paint.

With thin paint , paint a still life of sunflowers. All full of overlays and controlled colour.

Week 6 Impasto (thick paint).

Paint expressively and direct with this technique.

Week 7 classic English landscape.

Paint in the style of the classic Early 20th century English painters.

Week 8 opposite colours.

Paint a landscape but with opposite colours , you might be surprised!!.

Week 9 Branches and Blossom.

A Japanese inspired composition just using the view “through” the branches. 

Week 10. The summer bouquet .

Return to week one with a still life and a pot of summer flowers.
