one day natural dyeing and marbling workshops at cockpit studios for groups of maximum four students. tuition in the practical application of studio textile techniques to a professional level.
each class costs £75 per person and includes endless pots of tea and coffee.
23rd october 2010 10.30 to 4pm - dye workshop with penny walsh- the creative use of natural colour from plants and roots.
30th october 2010 10.30 to 4pm - marbling workshop with emma d’arcey- tuition in the ancient craft of marbling (dating back to the 10th century) and how to adapt this process to create contemporary textiles.
6th november 2010- 10.30 to 4pm - combined natural dying and marbling workshop with penny walsh and emma d’arcey.
each student should have hands on tutored practice in the techniques and make up several designs. handouts and recipes also provided.

The first of our Writers’ Clinics will be an intensive exercise based workshop looking at some of the more interesting and unusual points of view. Things look different depending on who is doing the looking and their vantage point. And whose thoughts does the reader have access to. Come prepared to work!
