3 days of printmaking, starting with a visit to Cirencester parish church to gather drawings and photos. Making lino prints and drypoint prints, as part of the Abbey 900 celebration.

On day one, you will spend the morning at the church, sketching and taking photographs of the aspects of the church which appeal to you.  The afternoon will be spent preparing your first prints, using the medium of monoprint to capture texture, colour and light.

On day two, you will be focusing on relief printing in lino to capture pattern and shadows

On day 3 You will have the opportunity to continue with linoprinting or to work in line using the medium of drypoint engraving

This workshop is suitable for all levels and students will be guided at every step of the process, as needed.  Beginners in the printing process will be given plenty of practical help and encouragement to produce effective prints, whilst those with more experience can really experiment with ideas and techniques.  Students will be asked to leave a copy of each print behind to form part of an exhibition at Abbey 900, which can be collected at a later date.
