Suitable for complete beginners and those with experience working with paper or needlework, this workshop is an introduction to the art of bookbinding.

During the workshop we will work together through each stage of the process of "case binding”, starting by cutting down sheets of paper to make sections for the book. We will then stitch the sections together to make the text block, after a break for lunch we will make the cover for the book and put the whole thing together. You will then be able to take your book home but it must be placed under weight overnight, to allow the glue to dry and create strong joints (a stack of books, flat iron, or a brick all work well, or a flower press). Emily will explain this fully at the workshop.
