Always wanted to learn to crochet? This is your chance! Learn the basics of crochet in a small group with personal attention. Each week we’ll be trying a new stitch so that you will be crocheting with confidence and making sense of baffling written patterns.

The class will run at your pace, so it will be suitable for all levels, from total beginner to improver. By the end of the course you will be crocheting with aplomb, but be warned, it’s addictive, so you can carry on at home, on the bus, in the car, watching the TV, in a waiting room…

Week outline:

1 Slip knot, an even chain and join with a slip stitch, then try double and half-treble, your first crochet stitches.

2 Be mistress of the treble, double-treble and triple treble.

3 Have a go at working in the round to make a granny square.

4 Scallops and clusters and bobbles.

5 Follow the gooble-de-gook that is a written pattern.
