Exploring Artists and Art History can offer a wealth of joy and inspiration from examining Art in its historical context to the motivations and materials used by all of these wonderful creative people.

This course gives us a brief look and understanding of the Russian Artist Wassilly Kandinsky and the opportunity to use his paintings and colour palette as a spring board to inspire our own ceramic vessel forms.

The format ensures this course is accessible to complete beginners as well as those with greater ceramic expertise and will encourage participants to use a sketchbook as a tool for investigating and developing ideas.

With gentle and supportive step by step guidance we will use slab building to create a vessel form and scraffito as the main method of decoration. As ideas progress the project can be taken in a variety of directions with technical advice available as required.

This course promises to be informative and enjoyable allowing everyone no matter what your ability the opportunity to discover their creative self and explore a wealth of ideas.
