You will be learning the ancient technique of removing an upper layer to reveal another layer beneath or what is called sgraffito. Originally used in design sgraffito can also be applied to drawing and painting. We will be exploring both using soft erasers and putti rubbers to remove paint or pencil to highlight and add depth and texture.

This technique can be applied to drawing and painting and will show how removing can be just as effective as adding when it comes to mixed media works in particular.
