This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced needle-felters alike. Needle-felting is a wonderful skill to learn - it's a real 'kitchen table' craft that can be done almost anywhere, needing very few tools.
We'll start the day by needle-felting a small practice piece to get some skills in hand, then move on to needle-felt a sculptural bear or hare over a simple wire frame, building shape and adding colour with muted un-dyed wools, and with dyed merino.
Tutor: Dinny Pocock
Date & Time: Sat 11th - Sun 12th Aug, 10am- 4pm (10:30am - 3:30pm Sun)
Venue: Textile Studio, New Brewery Arts
What you will need:
All tools and materials will be provided. A bobbin for your bear or hare to stand on will be provided, but you might like to bring a ‘prop’ of your own; an old book, tool, or toy train! You might find it useful to bring images of your animal choice to work from, especially if you’d like your polar, grizzly, black bear, mountain hare etc. in a particular position.
