Katie is a multi-disciplinary textile designer and maker. Her "pollenated patterns" are both digitally designed and digitally printed or laser cut. Her distinctive colour pallet and playful use of scale and shape has been described as “metamorphic modernism”. Motifs are currently inspired by the animals which she reveres, specifically bees and peacocks and more recently, one she initially found repellent-another pollinator-the bat.  She invites you to take a closer look at these amazing birds and beasts and their symmetry, geometry and colours, focusing particularly on subjects like the colour of pollens, the bee dance and echolocation. She completed an M.A. in Multidisciplinary Printmaking at the University of the West of England in 2012 and in 2015 she was chosen to take part in the Crafts Council Hothouse scheme for emerging makers.
