Still life can mean virtually any tableau of objects arranged into a composition. The aim of this workshop is to hone your skills of observation so you can look more closely at what is before you and aim to capture it in your own way.
This workshop will get you to think about where the light is coming from, how it falls on an object, what shadows and highlights are created. Most artists need to ‘get their eye in’ on a regular basis, often daily. Using this skill of observation will help you look at everyday objects in a fresh new way and appreciate them more, which is the main aim of still life.
