The power of Georgia O’Keeffe’s artwork derives from her mastery of essential elements of art making: line, colour, and composition. A brilliant colourist, O’Keeffe created strong, vibrant works with colours that glow with energy and vitality.

Join Claire Sandars for a day of Oil Painting, inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe and our current exhibition in our main gallery space, you will spend the day. Working directly from flowers and other objects inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s work you’ll use oil paints to explore your own vibrant still life painting.

All abilities welcome.

MEET YOUR TUTOR

Artist and teacher Claire Sandars works predominantly in oils or charcoal. Her unorthodox use of colour gives her work a dynamic and contemporary feel.

With a P.G.C.E in Art and Design she also teaches adult drawing and painting classes, recently setting up ART | WORK, which brings drawing and painting classes into the workplace to help inspire focus and purpose through creativity.

She has been painting portraits and wildlife full-time for over 20 years and works in a studio in her garden in North Wiltshire.

All abilities are welcome

You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle or cup with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

Our on-site café Blend is open until 4pm each day.

What you will need:

All materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own brushes and oils if you prefer.

Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron with you.
