This 10-week course explores the first steps into drawing and painting. Suitable for beginners and those this some experience, the classes will help you discover a new way of seeing, expressing yourself visually and recording the world around us.

During the ten weeks, Francis will guide you through the various fundamentals of picture making with a variety of projects and exercises. The course will include working from a still life arrangement in the studio, creating versions of famous paintings from the past and making our own interpretations of the landscape using picturesque photographs.

Starting with the basics, the course is designed so that each week a new idea can be explored alongside a series of varied subject matter.

Francis is practiced as an artist with both painting and drawing and will be able to offer plenty of useful tips and insight for the focus of each class. Our aim will be to create a new artwork each week for you to take home and enjoy!
