Whether building on existing skills or starting from scratch, the course teaches tradition and contemporary techniques of mark making and colour with a versatile approach.

Subject matters include still life, portraits, landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes.  Students can choose whether to take part in various exercises for example using a limited palette, alla prima, or a certain brush size/palette knife.  The course looks at the work of different artists for inspiration.
