Join our resident upholsterer and textiles maker, Ruth Martin on this half day workshop where you will learn the craft of botanical embroidery in a relaxed and creative space.
Ruth will guide you step-by-step in creating a beautiful lavender bouquet embroidery, complete with beading and ribbon details. After learning some key stitches and techniques, you will sit and stitch together as a group, offering a peaceful chance to exchange creative ideas and inspiration.
This hands-on experience not only enhances your sewing skills but also actively encourages creativity and individuality in your crafting journey. Ruth will include guidance on backing your hoop, along with other ideas for how your completed embroidery could be used. This is a no-rush class, where there will be no pressure to complete the stitching; you will go home with the skills to complete the embroidery in your own time at home if necessary allowing you to enjoy the mindful opportunity to be creative without expectations. You will also be given the option to scent your work with lavender essence, providing the perfect relaxing sensory experience.
By the end of the workshop, you will proudly take home your very own embroidery, as well as the confidence to make more, either for your own home or to give as beautiful gifts.
