Join artist Daisy Embury on this day workshop to explore the medium of oil paint focusing on autumn blooms.
In this workshop Daisy will take you through the basics of oil paint, working briefly through its five stages. You will learn how to sketch, find your palette, then work into some stronger details. You will be guided through the day and be shown there is no right or wrongs, just a listening ear and gentle touch with your brushes. Daisy will talk you through the different brushes, oil paints and basic material knowledge.
Over the course of the day, you will use the skills taught by Daisy to paint a bloom from autumn nature on an A3 canvas. Daisy will support and guide you through the whole process, giving you tips and tricks to help you progress and succeed.
You will leave this workshop with some foundational skills in using oils, so you can further your practise afterwards.

Meet Your Tutor - daisy embury
Daisy is a self-taught, British artist and oil painter, currently exploring our relationship with nature through oil paintings, and journey from Birth to Rebirth.
Daisy discovered oil paints when she was 12, and had a fascination with hands, feet, and human skin, evolving into freelancing as a portrait painter. She took her creativity to University, to study Fine Art, developed a love for painting botanicals, delicate likeness to the humans, and returned to portraiture in the final year.
Daisy has participated in group shows, won Botanical Artist of the year, and was selected for the Clyde & Co Awards. She also briefly attended The Florence Academy of Art in Italy, after obsessing over the Renaissance craftsmanship. She then spent three years in the beautiful New Zealand, and took various commissions during her time there. Then relocated to Melbourne to work as a Personalisation Expert and Artisan for Louis Vuitton. This put her back in touch with creativity, and her own ideas were birthed.
