Join visual artist Emma Roch on this 2 hour workshop to creatively play in collage.

In this workshop Emma will teach you an introduction to collage using recycled magazines and papers to create a collection of experimental, contemporary collages. Emma will guide you through the process with plenty of demonstrations and tips on how to create your very own masterpieces.

Over the course of the morning, you will be given themes to explore to create a collection of collages to tell a story. You will be encouraged to think about colour, texture, scale and shapes. You will be using a concertina sketchbook as your canvas to showcase your adventure. You will use collage techniques of ripping, cutting and layering to create your experimental pieces.

You will be encouraged to “paint with paper” and to be playful in adding interest to your work. You will leave with a new found confidence to experiment further and to continue on your collaging journey, seeing the beauty in using recycled magazine pages as your palette.
