Join designer maker Lauren Holloway on this 2-day intermediate workshop to learn how to sew a Pekka jacket.
Inspired by traditional Japanese clothing, the Pekka is an oversized mid-season jacket with wide armholes and a simplified lining. It’s slightly cropped sleeves and generously sized pockets make it a stylish choice for layering.
During the 2-day workshop you will learn how to cut your pattern pieces from fabrics of your choice along with how to attach a lining to your jacket. You will also learn how to sew on oversized pockets and a collar. Along the way, Lauren will teach you essential tips and tricks for dressmaking and how to work with a variety of different materials. This is the perfect workshop for anyone wanting to improve their existing skills, so basic knowledge and confidence using a sewing machine is essential. If you are a complete beginner please sign up to our Beginner Machine Sewing workshop first.
You will leave this workshop with a beautiful Pekka jacket. It is a perfect garment layering through the seasons, making it wardrobe staple for years to come, representing the importance of making garments to last.
Please note this 2-day workshop runs over 2 consecutive weeks.
