Develop your drawing and painting skills in this dedicated
portraiture course.
This course is designed to offer a constructive environment for anyone keen to learn the fundamentals of portraiture, alongside developing both their drawing and painting skills.
Starting with the basics, the course begins with an exploration of proportion, form, light and composition. Artist and tutor, Francis Martin, will break down each component into easily understandable ideas, explaining with demonstration and assisting with guidance during practice.
The key principle of the course is that drawing and painting are interrelated, with painting being an extension of drawing's visual language.
In the second half of term, the class is introduced to painting in oils. Francis explains the simple chemistry of the medium along with colour mixing from a limited palate and a straightforward process within which the artists individual creatively can flourish.
Suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience.
