Join jeweller Fiona Dowling on this day workshop to learn how to make jewellery with sea glass or pottery.
In this workshop Fiona will teach you the fundamentals of silver jewellery making. You will learn how to saw, solder, file, hammer, hand-stamp and finish your own sterling silver jewellery.
Over the course of the day you will learn how to saw, solder, file, hammer, hand-stamp and finish your own sterling silver jewellery. You will learn how to make your own bezel setting and set pieces of sea glass or pottery within a ring and/or pendant, transforming authentic sea glass into stunning, wearable pieces.
You will leave this workshop with a piece of unique sea glass jewellery and having experience the joy of handmade design in a welcoming environment.

Please note, this workshop is for those aged 18 and over.
You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

What you will need:
Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Please remove jewellery and tie hair back.
All tools are provided.
The cost of the silver is not included in the workshop fees. The approximate cost of these materials is between £30-£50 and payable to the tutor on the day.
You are welcome to bring your own sea glass or sea pottery but please be aware not all pieces will be suitable to set.

Meet Your Tutor - Fiona Dowling
Fiona has 20 years of experience in the Jewellery Industry, a BA from Edinburgh College of Art and an MA from the Royal College of Art, London.
After years of making jewellery on her own, Fiona now loves making as part of a group and passing her skills on to others. She says “It’s all about gathering together and feeling really satisfied with what you have created - where the experience is as precious the jewellery you’ve made.It’s amazing to see what can be created with a basic set of tools and some guidance.”
