Join visual artist Emma Roch on this day half workshop to learn how collage a spring wildlife scene.

In this workshop Emma will teach you an introduction to collage using recycled magazines and papers to create a contemporary spring wildlife scene. Emma will guide you through the process with plenty of demonstrations and tips on how to create your very own masterpiece.

Over the course of the afternoon you will begin by thinking about the colours, textures and shapes needed to create your collage design, using reference materials provided. You will then be shown various collage techniques, such as ripping and cutting to create your landscape scene. You will then add in your spring wildlife, to really bring your scene to life. You will consider the colour palette, shapes and layering to create a contemporary and fun collage.

You will be encouraged to “paint with paper” and to be playful in adding interest to your work. You will leave with a new found confidence to experiment further and to continue on your collaging journey, seeing the beauty in using recycled magazine pages as your palette. You will have a collaged Spring wildlife scene to proudly frame.

You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

Meet Your Tutor - Emma roch

Emma is trained in textiles and visual design. She is inspired by nature and the world around her, exploring colour, pattern and texture. Working in mixed media, Emma explores her passions through weave, print and collage. Her most recent work is collage inspired by pets, people and plants.

Emma is hugely passionate about making arts accessible to all and the positive impact it has on each of us. She find its hugely rewarding teaching creative workshops to under 18s; encouraging creative thinking, building resilience and empowering young artists to be freely expressive within their work.

Emma has over 7 years experience working in secondary schools as a food, textiles and art technician as well as volunteering for local art trails; facilitating an accessible art and craft offer for families and the local community.
