Join textile artist Sue Green on this day workshop to learn how embroider an Indian saree panel.

In this workshop Sue will teach you the fundamentals of embroidery. These will be broken down and taught with multiple demonstrations and one-to-one guidance.

You will start the day by using beautiful silk saree strips to weave a 10 x10 inch back round, this will be then machine stitched down to form a base for your embroidery. You will then chose a traditional logo such as a peacock, elephant or pattern from henna designs. Next, you will hand embroider your logo, embellishing with sequins, beads and metallic threads.

You will leave this workshop with an embroidered saree panel that could be stitched on the back of a denim jacket, made into the front of a bag or a enjoyed as a decorative wall hanging .
