Join crochet expert Lisa Donaldson on this day half day workshop to learn how crochet.

In this workshop Lisa will teach you the fundamentals of crochet. this workshop will cover all the basics to get you going in the wonderful world of crochet. You will cover all the basics from how to hold the hook and yarn comfortably in a way that works for you and the basic stitches and techniques to work in rounds and in rows.

During the workshop, once you have mastered the fundamentals Lisa can help you begin your first crochet project. Time permitting, you could go home with some lovely flower appliqué plus a circular coaster or granny square. This workshop is flexible to the needs and interests of the group, for example, the techniques learned to make a coaster are transferrable to make a hat or basket.

You will leave this workshop with the confidence and fundamental skills to continue your crochet journey.

This workshop is suitable for 8 - 12 year olds.

Meet Your Tutor - Lisa Donaldson

Lisa has loved creating things since she was a little girl. She teaches Art and Craft classes and private lessons, and designs and creates her own artwork and products. She is a crochet addict, a strong tea drinker and a big animal lover. She teaches in a way that is friendly to all learning types and advocates for creating in a way that works best for you.

Lisa has a BA Degree (Hons) in Fine Art Painting and Drawing, and considers herself a multi-passionate creative with a strong textiles background. She worked in education for many years, with both adults and children, and enjoys giving confidence and sharing skills with others.

Lisa feels strongly about creativity as a self-care tool for mental health and wellbeing.
