Abi hand builds her work predominantly using slabs and specially constructed moulds and formers. She is particularly interested in texture, colour, form and function. Her work explores the theme of traditional domestic ware, and she always challenges the boundaries between the functional and the sculptural with a sense of humour.
Abi studiedBA(Hons) 3D Design, Wood, Metal, Ceramics & Glass at Manchester Metropolitan University and specialised in Ceramics and Wood. After leaving university, she chose ceramics as her main field of practice. Abi is also an experienced qualified teacher and has taught Art & Design across the age range at secondary schools for 15 years.
