Jade Ogden is a handweaver based in Somerset. She has a BA in Creative Arts from Bath Spa University and an MA in Participatory and Community Arts from Goldsmiths University.

Jade studied handweaving at the Handweaver’s Studio in London and has been developing her practice over the last decade. She runs The Handloom Room, a small enterprise showcasing sustainable textiles and carefully crafted curiosities.

Jade uses regeneratively farmed wool - sourced less than 10 miles from her loom - to weave scarves, wall panels, cushions and braided jewellery. The sheep have been reared high on the Mendip Hills in a way that actively increases the biodiversity of the landscape in which they live. Jade has some of the wool naturally dyed in nearby Bristol, with both wild-foraged and home-grown dyeplants. Her cushions also feature upcycled, block-printed Indian fabrics alongside the handwoven wool.

She is a member of the South-West England Fibreshed, a community of textile growers and producers working together to expand the production of home-grown textiles and garments as part of a healthier and regenerative textile ecosystem.
