Dive into this detailed course where you will learn how to design, stitch and join together a stunning mixed crochet blanket.

Each week we will focus on a new granny square or textured stitch in rows that can be replicated and added to build your sampler blanket. You will be able to have input into the design of your finished blanket, choosing from a range of square types and colours to suit your personal taste. You will work from patterns and charts, learn how to read them and build skill in feeling comfortable using them. We will problem solve when things go wrong so you can understand how to correct mistakes.

You will be taught how to work on your blanket between sessions allowing it to grow and giving you practice at home.

You will finish with a wealth of knowledge in a range of crochet stitches and practical techniques that you can transfer to other projects, plus a beautiful item that you can keep or gift!

Go from basic knowledge to confident stitcher! Consider this an adventure in trying out lots of different ways to create crochet. Take on the challenge with new crochet styles creating floral shapes and mandala type squares, plus developing a wide range of stitch knowledge that creates texture and pattern.

You will gain confidence working in the round and in working rows and borders. You will learn how to join separate pieces together in a range of decorative and simple ways. Your tutor Lisa will show you how to combine colour to create beautiful results and guide you in piecing together your bespoke blanket.

There will be flexibility to scale up the difficulty or keep things simple to suit each individual crafter.

This course would suit a range of crocheters from beginners to confident crocheters that would like to step out of their comfort zone.

There will be a range of options to select from, and the blankets can be made more simple or more complex to suit the interests of the group.

Crocheters with more experience can stretch themselves to try more difficult patterns with guidance and support.

What you will need:
Students should bring a 4mm crochet hook (or their preferred size if different), suitable for working in DK acrylic yarn.

Students may like to bring a folder, notebook and pen for handouts and recording notes.

Students may bring their own coloured yarn instead if preferred.
