Join textiles artist Sue Green on this 4-day immersive workshop to learn book making with mixed media textiles.

In this immersive workshop you will learn how to make a textiles book using the theme of nature. You will construct a calico based book full of samples, drop down pages and pockets.

Over the four days you will be encouraged to play and experiment through making print blocks, stitching fabric collages and working with hot glue, as well as packing transfer images, plastic pockets, rust dying fabric and tissue; all to be creativitly sewn into your book. The possibilities don’t stop there and you’ll be encouraged to incorporate words, printed luggage labels as well as being shown how to sew with tea bag paper as a method of transferring image.

You will leave this workshop having been experimental and leave inspired with a unique hand made mixed media textiles book.

This 4-day immersive workshop takes place over 4 consecutive Mondays.

Please note that this workshop is for those aged 18 and over.

You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

Who is this workshop for?
Those who are able to use a sewing machine and have a basic knowledge of hand stitching.

What you will need:
All materials and equipment are included.

Please bring any textiles supplies you wish to include in your book if you have them.
