Join our resident upholsterer and textiles maker Ruth Martin in this half day workshop to learn how to create embroidered buttons.

In this half day relaxing and creative workshop, you will explore the delightful art of botanical embroidery and make a set of your own embroidered buttons. Ruth will guide you step-by-step in learning key stitches to create floral embroideries on linen using an embroidery hoop. All materials are provided, and the workshop is designed to be a relaxing opportunity to explore your creativity.

After learning the techniques, the group will sit and stitch together, offering a peaceful chance to exchange creative ideas and inspiration. When the embroideries are complete, Ruth will show you how to use a button press to make your own collection of beautiful buttons. You will each make around 6 to 8 buttons to take home.

This hands-on experience not only enhances your sewing skills but also actively encourages creativity and individuality in your crafting journey. By the end of the workshop, you will proudly take home your very own set of embroidered buttons, as well as the confidence to make more, either for yourself or to give as beautiful gifts.
